The holiday season is in full force, which basically means non stop Christmas music, weight gain and SHOPPING. While I do enjoy being lavished with gifts on Christmas morning, my true holiday joy comes from giving gifts to others. Ok, now before you start rolling your eyes and calling “Bulls**t”, realize that my love of giving gifts is not completely selfless. I revel in the fact that I know I am a great Christmas Gift Giver. I get a “high” from watching someone open my inevitably awesome gift.
Since I am totally anti mall from November-January, I do 99.9% of my shopping online. It’s great. No check out lines wrapping around the store, no screaming matches over the last parking and no people trampling over other people in order to get the last toy left on the display. For me, shopping at home in my PJ’s and a glass of wine is the only way to go. Except for ONE thing..these days the internet is a crazy place: hackers, SPAM, fraud, identity theft. Worrying about all of that is almost enough reason to make me brave the treacherous holiday mall season. But thanks to the genius computer wiz’s over at McAfee, I will continue to shop for my whole family from the comfort of my couch.
See, the internet is tricky and you never know when you’re going to click the wrong link. Sure, I am smart enough to avoid the emails titled “Are you a bored lonely housewife looking for some fun?”, but when my inbox is filled with “Best Holiday Price” or “Top Rated Toddler Toy” emails, who knows what to do?! McAfee’s got you covered in case the “Top Rated Toddler Toy” was in fact some annoying, Christmas-ruining computer virus. It’s not just email, the McAfee geniuses found a way to protect you when you’re surfing the web, baking online, sharing files, watching videos and so much more.
Holiday shopping brings out the impulse shopper in me. Sometimes, I’ll be sitting in bed at 2am and I’ll get the urge to buy something. I just grab my tablet or phone and in my half asleep state ( I know about sleepwalking, but is sleepbuying is a real thing?!) and buy more gifts. Yes, I may have an online shopping addiction, but since McAfee software protects all of my devices (up to five) I don’t have to worry that my middle-of-the-night purchases from my tablet are going to result in some stranger in Alabama stealing my identity.
I think I am finally mastering the art of Christmas Shopping. Crazy Mama: 1, Christmas Shopping Stress:0.
